Earth School – So, How’s Your Homework Coming Along? Part 1

In spiritual circles, we tend to call the planet Earth a school where over repeated lifetimes we reincarnate to continue to learn and to grow spiritually with the very long-term goal being to learn, grow and evolve in order to raise our energetic frequencies to the highest vibration of love. After eons of time, we can accomplish our spiritual evolution to such a high state of love which is when we can choose to reunite with our Creator as One. So, we return to Earth, life after life, and we come here with a “study plan” or “contract” for each lifetime. We participate in creating our life contract with wise and loving spiritual advisors before each lifetime deciding on specific goals and intentions chosen to help us to grow and evolve. Our homework, if you will, is to have lessons to work on to hopefully achieve certain predetermined, positive outcomes. All this with the intention of raising our spiritual vibration to the next level for our highest and greatest good and the highest and greatest good of all beings. Our life contracts are quite complex and are thought through and revised until they make sense for our level of ability to complete them. Some overachievers may need to be reined in by their advisors to not take on too much at one time. There are very long and arduous lifetimes, extremely short lifetimes, and very simple lifetimes. They all have meaning for our own spiritual growth and for the spiritual growth of each and every one of us on this planet. From what I have learned, every single life and lifetime has value and purpose, even the most incomprehensible ones that all of humanity mourns and struggles to try to find some meaning or reason for such horrendous journeys. I believe that we will gain understanding when like an audience, we are in Spirit, like our forebears, watching life on Earth as it unfolds as on a stage.

It's incredible how detailed a life plan is, right down to our genetics, race, religion, culture, country of origin, family dynamics, and so on. We also come in with our soul family members with specific roles to play in each other’s lives to help each other grow. In a way, it is like a theatrical production. “All the world’s a stage, and men and women merely players…” William Shakespeare wrote in his famous play, As You Like It (spoken by his character, Jacques), and after a long life as a spiritual seeker, I do believe he gave us all a glimpse of our spiritual reality.

So, let’s talk about our homework on Earth school and how to recognize patterns that we may be repeating and need to resolve. I will tune into my guides (I’ll explain them, too, later) as I try to convey this concept to you. Let’s use the image of a seed or nut that will grow to become a tree to parallel human growth and development. As the seed falls to the earth it lands in particular soil. The soil it grows in will affect how this plant will grow. If the soil is dark and rich and the rains come, this seed can put down it roots and have a strong and nurturing environment to grow in. if the soil is weak in nutrients, stressed and dry, our seedling is going to have to struggle to grow its roots into the earth. So it is with humanity, depending on our home environments that we are born into, we will be nourished and flourish or we are going to have to struggle to grow. Our seed, now a sapling, grows and adjusts to the conditions it lives in. It may be straight, supple, and tall from relatively ideal growing conditions. It may be misshapen, scarred, and stunted by a poor environment for growth. We humans are much the same in this regard. If our family of origin is emotionally healthy, mostly loving, and has enough food, clothing, and a place to live, a growing child will have a positive sense of self love and self-acceptance, safety, and security. If a child grows up in a family of trauma, anxiety, and lack this child will have learned negative coping mechanisms that will affect this child’s growth in a distorted fashion. This child is already struggling with a lot. I do not mean to underplay how painful this struggle is for a little one when I say, this child’s path is going to be a challenging one that will potentially help them to grow into quite a beautiful human being. And what of the child who had what they needed growing up? Well, they will certainly have their challenges in life as well. How they will struggle will be dependent on the choices they make as they navigate their lives. I think everyone knows someone who had it all and made one bad decision after another that harmed themselves and those who love them. No one I know has not had physical or mental illness, injuries, unavoidable mishaps, things that happened that were out of their control, or made bad decisions large and small, bad investments, trusted the wrong people and on and on. It is part of the journey of life to have these issues, because from it is from the challenge of the struggling with them and overcoming them that is where we experience the richest spiritual growth. The easy stuff in life is our time off or spiritual respite from the tough stuff. Believe me, I have walked and will walk through my own challenges, and it is not fun. I remember just how royally pissed off with God I was for all the painful struggling I had to do to recover from my own childhood trauma. The healing was absolutely excruciating at times. But as I look back, after 68 years on this planet, I see the true value in what I have learned and why. And I promise you that you can get to where you do, too. This is the actual homework of life, and it is how we take on these challenges and attempt, maybe repeatedly, to resolve them for our highest and best good that we do evolve from them. As much as we would all prefer to be sitting under a few coconut trees, be served fruity drinks, and just soak up that sunshine on the beach, that’s not what we grow from, unfortunately.
