Evolve Aromatherapy is the culmination of a lifetime of my own search for holistic health and wellness. Born with a sensitive metabolism and a host of allergies, I began my personal search for foods and products that I could eat and use when I was only 24 years old. I had left college with some chronic, digestive issues from eating things that I did not know that I was allergic to like dairy, gluten, and yeast products. I stumbled onto a magazine article about food allergies and the symptoms caused by them, and recognized myself in the paragraphs that I was reading. I learned about a wholistic medical doctor, one of the very first in the field of wholistic medicine in the USA, who lived and practiced in a nearby city. I immediately made an appointment with him and so began my education and journey to wellness.

I learned that a person can be allergic or sensitive to just about anything and I had quite the list of food, pollen, and chemical allergies. I learned how to clean up my home environment, eat organic foods whenever possible and to avoid exposure to allergens wherever possible. It was a lot of work, and restricted my diet, but I began to feel better and better as I made adjustments to my home and to my lifestyle. Maintaining an active exercise regimen, changing it up over the years, and adding ballroom dancing these past 15 years, have all contributed to health. Even with these changes, I continued to search for alternative medical remedies while still using standard medical treatments as needed. I refer to myself a “mixer” when it comes to alternative and allopathic medicine. They both have their place in maintaining my wellness, but I tend to lean on the side of alternative medicines first as my sensitive body does better with gentle remedies whenever possible.

I learned about essential oils ten or twelve years ago from a friend that worked for an MLM, essential oil company. Having already been actively searching for gentle approaches for my own wellness, I went to a workshop that she was giving and bought a few oils to try. I was fascinated by them, how good they smelled and the gentle ways they could improve how I was feeling. And I wasn’t allergic to them! I consequently ended up with quite the collection of them, but to be honest, did not understand how to use them safely and effectively back then.  So, they ended up sitting on my bathroom shelf gathering dust on the wooden boxes that contained them. Then it happened! In September of 2019, I discovered an introductory, online class that was being offered by Aromahead International, a world renown, Aromatherapy Certification, online school. I signed up in the Spring of 2019 and went on to earn my Aromatherapy Certification!!! I truly love the outstanding education that I received there, and I continue to take my CEU classes from them to this day.

What interested me in my very first class was that I could make my own skincare from beautiful, rich, carrier oils, butters, beeswax, and essential oils. I could make organic and natural, preservative-free products for myself that I loved and that nourished my skin in ways that I had never experienced. (I used to buy from the very top of the line, and very expensive, makeup and skincare companies found at only the best department stores because they were the most hypoallergenic products that I could tolerate.) I was thrilled with my new abilities and with the much higher quality skincare products that I made back then. I seriously haven’t purchased any overpriced and watered down skincare in years. Now I am a passionate, Certified Aromatherapist who, after a lot of research and testing, has created a line of rich and nourishing skincare for most people’s needs. I also formulate custom products to address any skincare needs, issues, or allergies that my clients may have. I want to thank my human-only testers who were, and are, so helpful in their honest evaluations of the efficacy of each product that I send to them to test. Their valuable input about each product has helped make me a better Aromatherapist and formulator of all of Evolve Aromatherapy’s products. Their evaluations find that Evolve Skincare is beautiful to smell, feel and to apply and that their skin improves steadily after using my products for a couple of months.
