Finding Peace in Times of Chaos Part 2

Now, let’s talk social media, cellphones, computers, tablets, gaming, landline telephones, apps, and convenience devices like Alexa. Just like television, these are all electronic devices and software that reach into our homes, our hands, and our minds. In a sense, they are actual points of connections to and from each of us to the outside world. What powerful tools these are for so many good uses, and for many dark uses that we may not be fully aware of and need to learn about before bringing them into our homes and using them. I don’t know about you, but it creeps me out when my phone sends me ads from sites I have visited or talked about near my phone. I spoke to the guy at iPhone and he said that it was the apps I had on my phone that were doing that not the phone itself. Tik Tok and Alexa have never been nor will ever be a part of my life, so I am still trying to figure that one out….

Any informed parent of the computer generation is aware of chat rooms being used by pedophiles to lure our children out of the safety of their homes and into their clutches. Any computer can be used to give these predators access inside our homes to our precious children and grandchildren. We need to be protective and preventative to set their computers to safer access settings for our kids’ safety. Anxiety provoking as this is, it is the cold reality of all electronic communication devices. They are tools which can be used by any operator of the tool for good or bad intentions. What we need to do is to research every app and every device before we purchase them. I feel that we need to learn and to practice discernment to prevent ourselves and others from being exploited, manipulated, and/or harmed by these powerful tools.

So, let’s refresh our memories steps of Psychic Self Defense we learned in part 1 of this blog. We have the steps of Recognizing, Releasing, Repairing, Protection, and Prevention. There is no reason why we cannot apply these concepts to our electronic devices to make what we take into our homes, lives, and minds wholesome, growth promoting, and helpful. And at the same time, we can take actions to diminish the negative aspects of other users/operators on our lives and families. Please understand this will take your own concerted time and effort to research. We all have any number of devices made by a myriad of manufacturers. Apps, online sites, gaming sites, and social media can be the wild, wild west and need to be well-researched before we blithely download them onto our devices. So, in this case, use both steps of protection and prevention, and take time to research who made the app before you download it. Learn what data they mine from your devices before you purchase it. And, make sure it is safe for you or your kids to use without giving away any personal privacy in some way. The same goes for any sites you go on, the search engine you use, and who you follow on social media. Same for the kids. There are usually ways to block and control who has access to you and your data on social media and websites. There are many ways to protect our kids and grandkids from being harmed in more ways than I currently want to research to give you a complete list of what social media and wandering around the web can do.

In terms of our computer devices or any device that has a chip in it, websites and/or apps, an ounce of prevention is well worth a pound of cure. Repairing a situation out in the “computerverse” can vary in difficulty and you may need to hire a computer geek to sort it out for you if you cannot do it yourself. That’s why I mentioned the protection and prevention steps at the outset of this blog. Repair is not impossible and there are so many of you have grown up on computers and know how to fix many annoying issues. But monetary gain is as big motivator for all the business related to computerized devices. Research and Development in every company around the globe strives to stay ahead of its competitors, and us, in order to cache our data and make tons of money from what they have learned. Nefarious countries use our data against us whenever they can to misinform and politically divide and weaken us. And, very sadly, it’s working. Democracies around the world are under assault from within our computers, our iPhones, tablets, and on our television screens. It’s up to us as consumers to stop using the bad apps, watching “propagandavision”, and to not purchase devices that listen in to us. That’s where we have all the power- In our wallets and if we start to think collectively and make active decisions together to not buy what they are selling we can shape the world into a better place to live and raise our families. Companies are hoping to lull us into complacency and milk us for all we are worth – if we let them. By the way, if you turn off your cellphone regularly (think every night), it makes it hard for you to be listened in on because you have disconnected the listener!!! Take that George Orwell!

In closing, please think of this two-part blog as food for thought to help you to consider the state of peace in your current life. Maybe you’ll want to make to make a “to do” list, and then go on to create an oasis of peace from the chaos of the outside world by being the master of your computer/deviceverse. The overall, underlying concepts are to recognize what you need, prevent as much negativity as possible from impinging on your life, protect those you love and yourself, and to repair what is needed as needed. From my own experience, I can say that this kind of awareness will contribute to creating healthy boundaries between you and yours from the crazymaking “out there”, which I intuitively feel and believe is extremely vital right now. I know a lot of psychics and intuitives that are being very judicious about what they are allowing into their hearts, minds, and homes.  We are maintaining our little oases as best we can to find peace in these times of chaos. I fervently hope you will as well.

It is my sincere hope that this blog will serve you well and help you to maintain your mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual balance and wellbeing as we go forward into this brave New Year together.

Namaste,

Jean 🌱
